Commemorative Events in Watford

 

9:30am – Flag Raising Ceremony

 

Join us for a special flag raising ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day. The VE Day 80 flag will be proudly flown, with the Proclamation also being read. Local school children will also be in attendance to take part in the commemoration.

 

9pm – Beacon Lighting at Benskin House

 

You are invited to Benskin House for our beacon lighting ceremony. The evening will include the reading of The Proclamation and The Tribute, followed by the singing of the hymn ‘I Vow to Thee My Country’.

 

The beacon will then be lit as a symbol of remembrance. We’re also delighted to welcome the North London Military Wives Choir, who will be performing
